SBAC Pilot Testing Feedback Session

Event Date May 29, 2013
More than 80 schools throughout the county participated in the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium Pilot Test this spring. This session will allow us to collect feedback from district and school site personnel involved in the pilot tests, to inform our own county schools and districts as well as submit information to CDE and to SBAC as we prepare to move into field testing next year.

We would like to hear from district and school site staff (administrators, teachers, and technology coordinators) around the following areas:

What was the student experience with the pilot test? How did teachers/test administrators see students responding to the assessment items/tasks themselves as well as to the log-in and test administration experience?

What was the teacher experience with the pilot test? How did teachers manage the assessment experience, from preparation to the assessment administration itself?

What was the test administration experience? How did district and school site staff manage the assessment experience, from initial set-up through the entire pilot test administration?

What was the technology experience? What devices were used? In what settings was the test administered (classroom computers, computer labs, etc.)? How did the advance set-up, student log-in, and test management processes go? Were any technology device or infrastructure issues encountered, and if so what were they and how were they resolved?
